+jax-man
I am new to caching and want to try a night cache, but I have no idea what to do when I find a pair of night eyes. It appears that they are reflectors, but once found, which way do I go next? Quote Link to comment
+BCandMsKitty
I am new to caching and want to try a night cache, but I have no idea what to do when I find a pair of night eyes. It appears that they are reflectors, but once found, which way do I go next? That depends. If it is to mark the trail, usually you go to the reflector, and then scan the area all around with your flashlight up by the side of your head and look for another reflector. (Flashlight up by your head will reflect the beam back to your eyes) Go to it, scan again, and so on to the end. However, I've seen some night caches where the guidance reflectors are single, and a double means the end of the trail. In that instance, you start looking for the cache when you get to the "pair of night eyes". If the night cache in question uses double reflectors for guidance, there will likely be something different to signify the end, like three eyes in a vertical line, or something similar. +briansnat
Most night caches I've encountered you find one, then shine your light around to find the next, and so on. Make sure you have your tracking turned on though. Many night caches are set up to get you to the cache, but on the return you are on your own. Quote Link to comment
