EC virtual 5k run

Hello earthcachers,

I participated in the virtual 5k run for my team (because I'm the only runner) and reported everything correctly mid of October. Did you already get your "icon via email that you can display on your caching pages or website"? I'm just asking if I did something wrong.

Best regards, Britta for the CacherGirls team

the icon came though very quickly. I would resubmit it is probably a fault in the system.

This question does not fit to the OP's question, but to the title of the thread in general:

Somehow I wonder how many participated and in particular how many did it honestly and really covered >=5km starting or ending at an EC and without using motorized vehicles.

I have seen the badge on the profile of cachers who clearly cannot have met the real requirements.

Using non-motorized vehicles would be cheating as well...

AFAIK originally the idea was that you post the track of your journey, but then it was only the link to some spreadsheet, that was hard to find, no pictures, no track etc.

And the icon is not customized so everyone can simply copy it... a bit dissappointing...

Oh, darn! I completely missed this. I have two earthcaches which are about 6km by road from each other and council are just finishing a combined cycle path walking track along the highway.

How do I find out about this sort of event? It didn't appear in the geocaching.com newsletter, did it? Next time I'd organize an event starting at one EC with attendees having the option to walk to the other. Is there an EC newsletter?

Cheers

Tony
