+hydnsek
The Washington State Parks GeoTour will officially end on June 6, 2016, after three great years. So if you are currently working on the GeoTour, or thinking about it, you have 10 more months to complete it and get your coin(s) - silver for 50 caches, gold for 100 caches. (Plenty of coins left!) More than 6,500 geocachers have found at least one GeoTour cache, and nearly 1,000 have found five or more (actively working on the GT). Thanks to the State Parks and all the cache owners for this great quest! Any questions, contact me, I'm still the GeoTour project manager. Note: The caches themselves may remain in place, as long as individual parks and COs want to keep them. They just won't be part of a GeoTour anymore. +mynetdude
does that mean the caches will also be archived or will they remain or if they are archived will cache owners be able to place new caches? I'm moving to Washington right after this ends Quote Link to comment

If cache owners want to place new caches (at any time), they will need to follow the State Park permit process. Quote Link to comment
+hydnsek
Good news: After listening to cacher feedback, the State Parks is looking at ways to extend the geochallenge after the formal GeoTour ends. We have several ideas, and should have more to share in a few months. So stay tuned! Quote Link to comment

Would be great to have another summer (thru 8/2016) to plan trips and earn a geocoin, so any extension would be appreciated. Quote Link to comment
