Tracking bugs question

If I am starting my very first geocache is it okay to put in a tracking bug that I found in another cache and am needing to move along? Would it be better to put it in an established cache?

My only suggestion (or request), just make sure you can go back and retrieve the Trackable if, for some reason, your Listing is rejected. Otherwise, it shouldn't be an issue, and I've seen it done many times.

You certainly can. I actually like dropping off trackables in recently-published caches, because they tend to get found more often and there's a better chance of the trackable being picked up and moved along. You can even record it as dropped into the cache before the cache gets published. Simply post a note to the cache and set the trackable as "Dropped Off", and when the cache gets published the trackable will already show as being in the cache's inventory.

However, if you run into delays trying to get your cache published (which is possible for your first hide; there's a good chance you'll run into hurdles you hadn't considered), you may want to take the trackable back out and put it in an existing cache to give cachers a chance to move it along in a timely fashion.

Awesome, thanks! Yes, I would be able to easily retrieve it as I visit the town I plan to place it in at least once a week.

Many times I'll pick up a trackable and wind up dropping it in one of my own caches. Not only is it convenient it's also easy to retrieve if it's been sitting too long. Sometimes cachers will visit a cache solely to pick up a trackable so putting it in one of your own caches may entice more visits.
