Upgrading to a premium membership are there 2 different types?

Hi,

Having recently started geocaching we are looking to upgrade to a premium membership. If I go to upgrade through the app the price is A$ 46.99 if I go to upgrade through the website it is A$29.99 I'm just wondering are there two different types of premium membership? I did a search of the forums but couldn't find any information. The only difference I could see was the cheaper one is auto renew. Thanks for your help.

Premium Membership is Premium Membership.

Only difference is the time period, eg renew for 12 months, or the shorter period (3 months?).

 

Sounds like it's worth your while going through the web and getting the cheaper option?

Check if any tax is added if you go via the website...

 

Wonder if it's a phone store thing? Is it Android or Apple?

IIRC, just a week or so ago one said they paid almost six bucks a month on the app, when a years pm on site is only thirty.

I "thought" I was paying $25 a year, but just noticed a $9.99 charge on my credit card. I checked my subscription and it shows as 3-month renewals at $9.99 each. That's $40 a year. Too much for me.

I would recommend going through the website. I had an easier time paying for it through there and gave me more payment options. Definitely cheaper paying for the full year as well rather than the monthly or quarterly options.

It seems (to me) that few read/research Geocaching 101, or the Help Center for info, and I can kinda see why today.

- But not take the time to do research/pay attention with your money is just too weird.

Upgrading via the website should be US$30 not Oz dollars. Would be very surprised if it wasn't because that's what we pay each year. Using 0.75 as an exchange rate is about AU$40 (haven't looked at what which way the rates have gone today).
