disabled geocaching and people meet

Hi my family and I used to love geocaching and I have become ill and so we stopped. We would really like to get back into it. I have mobility issues so use wheelchair and scooter. Is there any way I can search for caches that are suitable for me? Any advice from anyone would be appreciated. We want to be able to mix with other people we feel quite isolated. We are northamptonshire.

Hi there, there are several options for meeting people and finding accessible caches.

 

There are lots of events happening in August to enable people to complete the 7 souvenirs of August. If you go to "Hide and Seek", then scroll down to "advanced options" select "all events" from the drop down menu and put in your postcode, it should give you a list of events.

 

If you are on Facebook, look for a group that are local to you, there a quite a few out there and I am sure they would be happy to help.

 

On the cache page there is an attribute for wheelchair friendly but you would have to go into each individual cache and look to see or read the cache description.

 

Premier members can run Pocket Queries which has the facilities to select caches was particular attributes.

Terrain of one is described as wheel chair accessible but is not always accurately used. Since you aren't a premium member you will have to take the path less traveled.

 

Go to the Play / Hide and Seek page and search for caches. When you get the results click the T in the D / T column and it will sort but I think it goes to the 5s fitprst. If it does click again and it will start with the ones. You can look through them and read the descriptions but downloading them only gives you a loc file which is bare bones and you don't say what device you are using which would be helpful.

Hi Poeshfamily. I also have mobility issues, there are a couple of solutions one is just choose to do cache and dash caches, another is to choose low, t1, caches or do what I like to do and that is be choosy. I have done 5-5 caches but I do pay for it afterwards but the sense of satisfaction makes it worthwhile. You can probably do more than you think you can. Be careful though.
