+SKS
Hi, I want to place a cache on Caribou Peak, between Augusta and Lincoln, MT. I live in Washington and would like to get a sponsor who lives not too far away from the cache who would be willing to provide maintenance if necessary so I can get approval. Let me know ASAP as I plan to leave tonight for a week backpacking trip during which I would place the cache. Thanks, Sam Quote Link to comment

+Panther&Pine
A slightly more polite answer might be to suggest an EarthCache in that location. Quote Link to comment
+Walts Hunting
A slightly more polite answer might be to suggest an EarthCache in that location. That would require the OP to so more work than dropping a container for someone else to maintain. Not sure he's up for that. Quote Link to comment

Problem solved! Best option ever, someone on the forums does the EarthCache write up after doing all the research, then gets it published while the OP is hiking, when they return it can be adopted over to them. all snark aside, at least they are asking ahead of time not demanding/offering after the fact. Problem solved! MooseJawSpruce, if I may speak plainly, may I suggest you use your "slightly more polite answer" as your first response in the future? Next, I hadn't considered the Earthcache possibility and haven't created one before but that's probably a better option. Wmpastor, thank you for your encouragement. I appreciate it. Problem solved! Problem solved Continental Divide Surprisingly, I couldn't find any Earthcaches related to the most obvious geologic feature on the North American continent, but maybe someone with better searching skills could find more. Here's a somewhat related one in Yellowstone to the South: The lake that drains to 2 oceans Best of luck. Looks like a beautiful area. Oh, and don't forget to get contact information of the Land Manager (i.e. Lewis and Clark National Forest in this case). Kind of coincidentally, my older sister will be hiking right by your cache later this summer, finishing up the CDT, the final of the long hike trifecta for her Quote Link to comment
