Geocaching Coordinates (Windows Phone)?

Hi guys,

I am fairly new to geocaching, and I can't buy a gps at this point. I was wondering if there are any apps for windows phone which will allow you to input coordinates and then give you distances to a spot (much like on the Geocaching app)? I solved a puzzle cache but now I am at a loss for how to find my way there. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Carter

You need to "project a waypoint". Google this: windows phone app project waypoint

One App in the list is "GPS Calculator". I don't know much about it, but it has a demo.

If you can use a web browser on the phone, there are web-based tools to project waypoints and measure distances. A lot of the work can be done in advance at home, but sometimes an App is handy for simple calculations in the field.

You can do this using the Groundspeak Windows Phone app without having to use a 3rd party app (and, have the advantage of having hints, logs, cache descriptions, etc.).

In the (Groundspeak) app:

1) Select cache

2) Choose "navigate" (map menu option at bottom)

3) Choose "create wpt" (flag menu option at bottom)

This will allow you create a new waypoint (with coordinates) which will show on the map.

"Tap" the desired waypoint to select it as the navigation target.

Very handy for multis, puzzles, etc. Also, if someone has listed a cache with extra waypoints (parking, trailhead, point of interest, etc.), those can be navigated to by selecting them on the map in the same manner.
