+Booherdie
We are currently considering upgrading our GPS to a Satmap Active 12, but wanted some feedback from first as to how this works practically for geocaching. My understanding is that you upload the geocaches via SatSYNC and the geocaches appear as OOI. Could anyone advise how you mark a cache as found and then at the end of the day either upload these to the geocaching site, or access a list so you can log them as found manually? If you use this model, would you recommend it for geocaching? Thanks in advance Quote Link to comment
ohgood
http://bluestoneimages.blogspot.com/2014/11/satmap-active-12-review.html?m=1 the last time i heard about one of those the friend said an etrex was leaps and bounds better, in every way. .... and he hated the etrex.... then realised his iPhone did everything easier, and never looked back. yogazoo
Can't advise you on your desired process but I had a friend who had a Satmap and found it to be ok for his uses once he figured out how to operate it. He uses that and a Garmin Montana switching between them based on his activity. He caches but also hunts, fishes, hikes, backpacks, paddles, and wouldn't dream of using his iPhone strapped to the front of his kayak. Since he does other things, a Garmin suits him better for all purposes. Quote Link to comment
