+zuge
Error Occurred Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. I'm currently unable to upload/compile ANY cartridges. Maybe a reboot is needed for the Wherigo.com server? Edited November 29, 2015 by zuge Quote Link to comment
+charlenni
Yes, we had this problem before. A reboot solved the problem. You could write to Groundspeak to report the problem or wait until RangerFox do this. Quote Link to comment
Ranger Fox
I sent a message to get them to restart the server. They've been responsive from previous experiences, so it shouldn't take too long. Quote Link to comment

Ranger Fox
I sent an email to the person who handles outages during the weekends. The site will be operational in about twenty minutes. (It would help if I read email instead of playing a game all day. I should give out my direct contact information so someone can notify me so I can send that email.) Quote Link to comment
Ranger Fox
And there we go. I finished uploading my cartridge and verified the site was up, then wrote a forum post for what I was working on. Quote Link to comment

Ranger Fox
I sent the usual email. This is the one thing on which I've had a good response time from them. Expect it up in fifteen minutes. Quote Link to comment
Ranger Fox
Yep. It's back up. It took me a little longer to test because I was writing a reply to another forum post. Quote Link to comment
+yxza
Hello, I don't know if I'm posting in the correct forum. The reason I'm posting here is that I get the same error when trying to download any cartridge. Error During Upload System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall) at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters) at Wherigo.GSPCartridgeService.CartridgeService.GetCompiledCartridgeWithMetaData(GWZMetaData gwzMetaData, String CartridgeFileName, String CartridgeId, Int64 PlayerId, String PlayerName, DeviceType deviceType, String CompletionCode) at cartridge_download.btnDownload_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) Regards Hans/YXZA Quote Link to comment
Ranger Fox
Sorry for the delay, everyone. charlenni sent me an email yesterday morning regarding this. I was on a flight from Reno to Dallas and didn't see the message until I checked as I was boarding my connecting flight. As soon as I saw the email, I sent a message to the right person at Groundspeak to kick the server again. Right after that, I had to turn the phone off for the flight. Over the next couple days, I'll try to get in touch with Groundspeak to see what's going on and why this issue has returned. I was hoping to see how long it would take for Groundspeak to get back with me regarding the Wherigo Foundation partnership, but I guess I'll have to end the experiment and see what's going on with their server. +TofLaBeuze
Hi, same problem again today... (good or bad news, Wherigo.com server is almost dead ) Quote Link to comment
Ranger Fox
This is the main thread To summarize my post on that thread, I'm trying to create an application that will monitor when the site has this specific error and email Groundspeak and myself when it detects it. I will post on the other thread when I've gotten the application up and running. (And here I thought I'd have a nice relaxing evening. Welcome to the Island of Misfit Toys...) Quote Link to comment
