Amount of Geocaches in Countries

Hi, hope I'm posting this in the right place! I'm just wondering is there anywhere that has the amount of geocaches hidden per country? Thanks

I don't think there is a formal easy to find count by country, but I know several folks have come up with numbers on occasion.

Also remember that these numbers change every day.

project-gc.com might have some stats. You can use it to gather stats manually, but I'm not sure if they show stats for a list of countries. I'm continuously surprised by what is available on that site.

Cache Stats > #caches by area gives a complete list by country.

 

USA is top on 1020k, followed by Germany (337k), Canada (206k) and the UK (178k). There's 11 countries on just 1 cache: St Kitts, Naura, North Korea and eight in Africa.

That number is readily available for countries whose listings are not subdivided into states. For example Italy ---> go to Hide and Seek a cache

for a country like Germany, which is divided into state searches, one more step, through Advanced Search yields this: Total Records: 336298

I think the US and Canada may be the only countries that can only be searched by State/Province (I could be wrong).

Project GC is rather impressive once you get the hang of it, I'm always learning new tricks to slice and dice data with it and GSAK.

Thanks! See, I'm amazed again. Although in this case, I'd say that "by area" is somewhat misleading. I saw that, scratched my head, and moved on.

It is impressive indeed. In some ways, I think GSAK is easier to use, and that's saying something
