Vernon's Magnetic Hill

Just curious. Have any Vernon area cachers thought about stashing one on "Magnetic Hill"? I spent a couple of hours there last summer rolling marbles around, pouring water on the road and rolling back and forth in the car. Never did figure out how it works. One guy passed by on a bike - but he was unwilling to stop pedalling and see if it works for bikes too. I've always thought it would be neat place for a cache. Especially if the cache contained theories about what's really going on there.

I'll be out that way the week after next. I may stop by and see if I can get a decent elevation reading on my GPSR.

I was on the "hill" way back in 1974. It was quite a tourist attraction/trap back then. I can remember having to accelerate my car in order to drive "down" the hill and when at the "bottom" they had us go in reverse "up" the hill. I had my foot on the brake pedal all the way "up". My wife refused to believe that I wasn't giving it gas in order to move.

Cheers, Olar

If your talking about Magnetic Hill NB,,,, I live just up street from it, and have thought of putting one here, main problem would be so much of where you can put one to have a view is private property. So i have though maybe going up one more level and do it near the old ski tow which over looks it. Guess i should get out there and do it..you may wonder how it works I wonder how they get people to pay 5 bucks to do it,,,, shesh before gov owned it,,it was free lol figures eh
