hoytvtecmach
Can Custom maps be stored like this on an SD card for use in my 62s? Can 2 or more maps be placed on one card like this and activated individually ?My link[/url] My link Edited January 10, 2014 by hoytvtecmach Quote Link to comment
+Timpat
Yes, your custom maps can reside either in internal memory or a SD card. They are placed in the CustomMaps folder on either. If the card does not have that folder create one (named as shown). And Yes, as long as each map is uniquely named you can have lots and they be enable/disabled individually. Quote Link to comment
insig
All KMZ files are enabled or disabled as one group on the 62s. The Oregon 6x0 has the ability to enable or disable KMZ files individually. Quote Link to comment

+ecanderson
Are we sure the OP isn't just asking about alternative *.img vector maps that would reside in the Garmin/GPX folder on the uSD card? Quote Link to comment

+ecanderson
Yikes, yes! Major brain fart after discussion of storing gpx files on uSD cards just earlier. "Garmin", and case sensitivity is important to remember. Quote Link to comment
+lavoien
Bonjour! Can you help please? I have a new Garmin 650 with a SD card. I made a \Garmin\CustomMaps directory on the SD card and place all my KMZ files on it. a) I do not see any of my maps on the gps. I cannot see the files on the map setting so I can't activate them the map were made form gpx files and converted to kmz wit http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/convert_input I can open and see the maps on google earth so I assume they are ok. the reason I converted the gpx files is because I could not see them on my gps. thanks for any comment/help you can give me! insig
Do they contain vector data (like lines and points) or raster data? The Oregon only supports raster imagery, like a JPEG. Quote Link to comment
+Timpat
Good point insig! I hadn't thought of that possibility. Lavoien, if you are working with trails or roads (polylines) then keep them as .gpx files and load them in the Garmin/GPX folder. Then use the menus to find Tracks and make them Show on Map, and you can change colors, etc. Quote Link to comment
