+GG+J
Hi - I used GSAK to send a file to my new Oregon 450. I noticed the file had been saved on the hard drive of the GPSr. So I opened the SD card drive, and dragged the file over. Now when I turn on the GPSr and say "Find Geocaches" it states that there are none on the GPSr. So it is not hunting in the SD card for the files. How do I make it do that? Quote Link to comment
+larryc43230
Are the caches you loaded on the 450 a good distance from you? If the caches are all more than 50 miles from your current location, they won't appear in a standard search for geocaches. Nobody seems to be certain about that maximum distance, but it seems to be about 50 miles. --Larry Quote Link to comment
+fishgeek
Did you place the files in a GPX folder on the card? The file should be in the X:\Garmin\GPX directory, where X is the drive letter for either the card or the unit's internal drive. If it's in the right location, try turning off the unit, removing the card, turning the unit back on until it completes the entire startup, turning the unit off, re-inserting the card, and restarting the unit. Always check the unit to make sure that the geocaches got properly indexed into it. Quote Link to comment
