+drroberts490
Hi all, I am hoping one of you lovely people on here may be able to help me. I have a GPSmap 62st which has been a good GPS to me, I upload my caches straight from the Geocache map and usually get 'uploaded successfully' or the 'already exists, do you wish to overwrite?' option. Recently when uploading to refresh caches already on my unit it has not asked for the overwrite option but has said uploaded successfully, when checking the caches on the unit the data has not refreshed, for instance the logs are from a year ago when I originally uploaded. This is proving quite frustrating as I went out caching yesterday and couldn't check any recent logs! Has anyone got any ideas what is causing this and how I can fix it please? I am not too technically minded! Thank you Quote Link to comment
+Timpat
This is something that always bugged me. The answer is to delete the old cache(s) gpx file before loading the new one. For whatever reason the unit reads the older dated files, not the newest. I've asked Garmin about this and have not gotten a satisfactory answer. Maybe someone else can enlighten us? Robertlipe? +drroberts490
Thank you for the reply, I just deleted a couple of the gpx files and reloaded and the cache in question is still only showing the old logs. I plugged my gps into the computer and started basecamp to have a look at the caches and the new logs are showing on basecamp but if I view the cache on the gps it still only displays the old logs! Confused!!!! Quote Link to comment
+Timpat
Perhaps try deleting them again, turn the 62 Off and reboot it to cLear things. Reload the gpx files and see if this does it. Any chance you use a Mac? I hear they behave differently regarding trashed files. Quote Link to comment

I have now deleted all the caches from my unit and when reloaded I now see the latest information, a bit of a pain but at least it works, thank you so much for your help. Quote Link to comment
+Mikos88
One of the things that happened to me, was that I was loading new caches in the same way to my GPSmap 62S, but they never showed. When I looked into it, it appeared that I also had my camera plugged in and that the plug-in was loading the files into my SD-slot. So, the next time I could try and use my camera in stead of my GPS. It's just a small difference in what place it places it, but if you select the wrong disk, it's going to write on the wrong disk... Not saying this is what happens to you, but it could be an option, since the GPS doesn't receive the new files. Nowadays I just download from a Pocket Query... Quote Link to comment
