Andronicus
I am updating the coordinates for puzzles I have solved. What maps will reflect these changes? The main geocaching.com map?, the maps on the cache page? The map on the android app? Quote Link to comment
+MtnMutt-ProDuckShins
Why would a map change? All you are doing is moving Point 'A' to Point 'B'. The new said location is just a point on the map to which you are heading to which shows on your device be it GPSr or Phone. Quote Link to comment
+niraD
The edited coordinates will not show up on the main geocaching.com map. However, if you include the cache in a pocket query, and then preview the pocket query on the map, then the edited coordinates will be used. Quote Link to comment
+Carrieb126
You could make a bookmark list of solved puzzles, and then make a pocket query out of your list. If you go to the map online and pick a pocket query to display, it will reflect the changes there. I can't speak for the Android app, but on the iphone app (intro with premium membership), you can select the cache with the original coordinates, and select additional waypoints to display to solved coordinates. Not as convenient as simply looking at a map with all your nearby caches including the corrected coordinates :/ I learned through trial and error that if you are loading PQs (at least on my garmin 600t) that if you load one query with the orignal/unsolved coordinates - say a generic Around Home PQ - and then later load a PQ with the solved puzzles, it can cause a conflict in the device when displaying caches on the map or list. Solution is just to not load unsolved puzzle caches. I am updating the coordinates for puzzles I have solved. What maps will reflect these changes? Andronicus
Thanks. Im currently not a PM (unlike my avitar sais), so some of these solutions won't work. But I guess that is one of the benefits I am currently missing out on.... Quote Link to comment
Andronicus
Oh, I just discovered what does work for a Basic Member. I did a search for puzzle caches with a radius. When I mapped the results, that map used the updated coordinates. Quote Link to comment
Andronicus
This search solution only works with the new search, not the old search. Unfrotunatly for me, the new search has no way to download the results, so I still can't get these updates onto my GPS... Quote Link to comment
+J Grouchy
The edited coordinates will not show up on the main geocaching.com map. However, if you include the cache in a pocket query, and then preview the pocket query on the map, then the edited coordinates will be used. They also show on the "larger" map on the cache's page, though the limited size of that embedded map doesn't make it very useful. Quote Link to comment
