+meltodd2012
We just bought a used garmin oregan 650 and bought a premium membership. I want to load the geocaches to the gps. I plugged it in and clicked downloaded to dowinload the garmin program that allows it to send (garmin developer) and even though it says the download was complete and is up to date it will not detect it In the small window which will not allow me to send it to my gps. is there another way I can do it. I tried over and over with no luck. Quote Link to comment
+kunarion
You can load one GPX at a time from a cache page by clicking "GPX File", to download it onto your PC. Save the file onto your GPSr in the folder [OR Drive]:/GARMIN/GPX That works even when the Garmin Communicator doesn't. And that process is simply the manual method to do the same thing that the Communicator does (but you have more control manually). One web browser that seems to work most often with Communicator is Firefox. Install Firefox, install & activate Communicator, and you should be able to use "Send To". But the 650 is a powerhouse of a GPSr. I'd suggest moving on up to loading a whole mess of cache files at a time. Have you looked at "Pocket Queries"? Those are a major benefit of Premium Membership. There's some info on the Pocket Query page: https://www.geocaching.com/pocket/ Make a selection of filters. Usually I leave everything at its default and just select the "Origin" (center of a given area) and a radius (a few miles from that point). You can get more creative after running and installing a PQ or two . Once the PQ seems to be showing a decent number of caches, checkmark a day to run the Pocket Query (such as, today), wait a while for an email that it's ready, download it, unzip it, place it in [OR Drive]:/GARMIN/GPX Edited May 23, 2015 by kunarion Quote Link to comment
+msrubble
I think I know what's happening. To download the details on an individual cache, are you clicking "[send to my GPS]"? The little window that pops up defaults to DeLorme. Click on the tab for Garmin, and wait for your GPS to be detected. It must be plugged in. Quote Link to comment
