How to transfer files to Explorist 210

Recommended Posts

OK so I just purchased an eXplorist 210 online and want to add waypoints. It comes with Magellan Geocache manger which will not load the files onto my device because it says 'a Magellan device is not connected'. Also i tried Magellan communicator and the same thing happens it doesn't recognize my GPS device.

However when I attach the device to my computer VIA USB it does give me access to the devices storage folders.

So my question is this how do I create files on my computer so i can just drag them over to my device VIA USB.

The file format is .UPT -- Im just getting tired of having to enter each geocache co-ordinate into my gps manually with the little joystick == any help is greatly appreciated!!

GPSBabel will read gpx or loc and write upt. As a premium member, your GPX from pocket queries will contain more info than as a free member, but GPSBabel will convert whatever's in the source file format to Magellan's (largely forgotten) .upt format. Free for every OS, but donations accepted.

Im sorry, I should have said thank you long ago. I have asked this simple question on several different forums and no one offered any solutions. This program was exactly what I needed to get caches transferred to my GPS unit. Thank you for this simple to use and helpful program!
