+Duckopolis
Hi, I'm a newbie to this, and I have a major question. How do you find more geocaches? Any tips of where to look? I have looked for a few, but I only seem to find a little less than half of what I look for. Quote Link to comment

Pup Patrol
Perhaps you aren't aware that there are different log types. "Found it" is not the only log type. You should be aware of when to post an "owner maintenance" log or perhaps the "write note" option. Help Center → Finding a Geocache → Logging a Geocache 4.2. What log type should I use? http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=534 Help Center → My Account → Geocaches in General 1.2. Geocaches That Need Maintenance http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=57 OWNERS: Once you have made repairs, post an "Owner Maintenance" log on the geocache page. This log removes the Needs Maintenance Icon. Don't let your geocache be filtered out in Pocket Queries by forgetting to remove the Needs Maintenance Icon. Additional reminders for Geocache Owners: Replace the container if the current one is not holding up in its environment. Make sure that that your container is watertight and that the contents are free from debris. If any of the geocache contents are wet, dry them off or replace them. Check that there is enough space left in your logbook for many more entries. If winter is approaching, make sure you include a pencil in your geocache since the ink in pens can freeze. If your geocache will not be accessible due to seasonal weather conditions, note this on the geocache page. Verify the Trackables that are listed in your geocache. Those that are listed in the online inventory but are no longer physically in the cache can be marked as "missing" by using the appropriate link on the Trackable's page. Help Center → Hiding a Geocache → Geocache Ownership: A Long-Term Relationship 3.15. How do I remove the needs maintenance icon? http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404 Once you have completed the required maintenance, post an "Owner Maintenance" log on the geocache page. You will find this option under "Log Your Visit." This will automatically remove the "Needs Maintenance" icon. Help Center → Hiding a Geocache → Geocache Ownership: A Long-Term Relationship http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=80 3.6. Logging My Own Geocache [update 16 October 2012] Can I log a find on my own geocache? What about when I go back to visit? It is considered "bad form" to log a find on your own geocache, no matter when you do it. The same is true if you re-visit a geocache (for example to place or retrieve a travel bug). Use the "post a note" log option to record your visit in these circumstances. In either case, you're not "finding" a geocache because you already know where it is. Save the smiley face for use when you've truly discovered a hidden geocache. B. Edited July 3, 2014 by Pup Patrol Quote Link to comment
+NanCycle
Perhaps you aren't aware that there are different log types. "Found it" is not the only log type. For instance this should probably be a "Didn't find it." Contrary to what many new players seem to think, finding the coordinates of a cache does not equate to finding the cache. Found general place where it SHOULD be. Quote Link to comment
