Found destroyed cache

My boys and I found a cache that was destroyed in pieces. we knew it was what we were looking for because we found a partial piece of paper that gives notice to finders that it was a geocache. I posted a note that we would take what we found and return the new cache (please excuse my error if I am using the terms incorrectly). I wanted to include the notice that we partially found that explains to muggles that what they found is a geocache but I can not find the complete notice and or how to print the complete notice. Would someone please advise where I can find the language for this notice or please type it in this post? Thank you

I believe your responsibility is to log your Found It, then add a second log - Needs Maintenance. (from the drop down list that the Found It log is located) This NM log will alert the cache owner that there is an issue with his cache. Describe what you found and allow the cache owner to determine whether it needs replacement or archival. Simply put, it is not your responsibility to repair nor replace a cache that you do not own.

It's not your cache so don't replace it. It's one thing to put in a new logbook, or put duct tape on a cracked container, but to replace the whole cache-well don't do it. Log a NM-needs maintenance log, saying you found the cache destroyed.

If the owner want's it replaced, the owner will replace it. If the owner doesn't, you'd be going against their wishes. If the owners out of the game, don't fix up the cache, let it die it's death. It will be archived, and if that spot is so special you can place a cache there yourself...

As for the muggle note-go to http://www.geocaching.com/seek/ and there arel inks to print out a note, or you can use Google.

Nice of you, but the CO hasn't been around in over a year.

NM red wrench on it since November of last year (and a few times before).

I would have NA'd it and moved on.

Looking for the Stash Note?

Likewise with the above comments. Looks like the cache has run its course and the cache owner doesn't appear to be active anymore.

I'd follow up with a Needs Archived, which will alert the Local Reviewer to Disable the Listing, allowing the cache owner (if they're still around), the opportunity to fix the issue. Usually after +/- 30 days, most Reviewers will Archive the Listing is there's no response.
