+Jam Jammies
hello i was just wondering how to download wherigos onto your oregon seeing as i am new at Wherigo. Quote Link to comment
Ranger Fox
Connect your Oregon to your computer. It will ask if you want to enter mass storage mode. Confirm this. Your Oregon will now act like a USB drive. Go to Wherigo.com and choose a cartridge you'd like to download, either one in your area or a Play Anywhere cartridge. On the cartridge's listing page, you'll see a download image button on the left side. Click that and you'll see a page where it asks you which device you'll use to play it. Select "Garmin Oregon" from the list (Oregon or Colorado, really, since it doesn't matter) and click the button to download the cartridge. Download the cartridge to the "Wherigo" folder within your Oregon (My Computer >> Garmin Oregon >> Wherigo). This is all that's needed. Please keep in mind the Oregon has the most unstable Wherigo Player. Some cartridges will handle fine, others won't, and still others will crash a few times before working properly. Please be patient. Quote Link to comment

Bay Area refugee
Hi, I have the Oregon 550T--I connected it like you told the last person, but it doesn't ask me if I want mass storage! I don't know where my manual is--is there something I'm doing wrong with this model? Thanks... Quote Link to comment

In other modes, it won't connect at all, in yet other modes, it will connect right away. The setting is in Setup>General (or is that called System?). Set it to Garmin Serial and you're gonna be fine. Okay, it was set correctly and I found the waypoints I had loaded (apparently several times!), but how can I save them as geocaches? It's for a geoteaming event where I live and only a few will survive the weekend to become actual caches. But it'd be hard to play without the hints. I kind of miss my old, basic Magellan Explorist. And I tried to open the files while attached to the computer and can't even find my cache log! Thanks for any help... Quote Link to comment

Your cache logs are in \Garmin\geocache_visits.txt, ready to be uploaded to Geocaching.com using the "Field Notes" feature. Quote Link to comment
+Lieblweb
We only used the Oregon 450 once for a Wherigo. It got us half way thru it and locked up and we couldn't get it back on track (without loosing everything we'd already done). That was with the previous firmware. Had to rely on the cell phones to finish it, and then the PiGo App didn't give us the coords to find the container!!! ARGH!!! Anyone have luck using the Oregon and Wherigo's? Quote Link to comment
+Bear and Ragged
Anyone have luck using the Oregon and Wherigo's? Yes, thank you. Got FTF on one. (Only done the one! ) Think the top tip is SAVE as you progress. Enter something? SAVE! Then, if things go wrong, you don't have to backtrack too far. Quote Link to comment

Unless it's one of those that tries to prevent you from "cheating" and won't resume from a saved state... And you don't know that until very late in the game... Quote Link to comment
Ranger Fox
If I foresee myself wanting to save and resume a game, I'll usually go to the first zone, trigger that event, save the cartridge, and test resuming it. For most of the cartridges out there, if it saves and resumes in this state, it should work for the rest of the game. The more hand-coding in a cartridge, though, the less likely it will survive saving and resuming. If a cartridge is on a timer, resuming a cartridge will normally expire the timer. Ranger Fox
I doubt there's a Wherigo player for the 750. Quote Link to comment
+Betty&Barney Rubble
I recently bought a Garmin Oregon 600 and it doesn't appear to have Wherigo capability. Is there something I need to do to get it? Quote Link to comment
+usyoopers
I have an Oregon 650t, hubby has an Oregon 450t. My bigger, badder, better unit won't play Wherigo, his will...... go figure. Quote Link to comment
+on4bam
Garmin dropped Wherigo after the OR4xx and Colorado models. I use WheryouGo for Android on my Galaxy Tab2. Works fine but draines battery because I keep the screen on all the time. Quote Link to comment
+Betty&Barney Rubble
Bummer! One of the reasons I decided to upgrade from my Nuvi 1300 to the Oregon was to have access to Wherigo. Oh well, it's still a nice GPSr. Thanks for the info. Quote Link to comment
+geo-tek
My Oregon 650T does not have a Wherigo folder. What do I do? Quote Link to comment
