gschrack
I have an iPad with only wi-fi. I want to use it at home where I can use wi-fi to search for geocaches by zip code and then find the lat-long coordinates. I then use my Garmin GPS to go to the geocach. Will the Geocach App for $9.99 give me the lat-long coordinates? Thanks. My grandchildren really enjoy geocaching. Quote Link to comment
+TriciaG
The $9.99 app will display the geocache coordinates for you to put on your Garmin, yes. It will not give you the ability to read the GPS satellites from the iPad - for that, the iPad needs a certain chip or hardware installed, so you couldn't take it geocaching instead of the Garmin. My wife does that all the time with her iPad. Quote Link to comment

gschrack
I tried your advice. Why do I get "Your location could not be determined, Please make sure airplane mode is disabled",it is disabled. or I get "Out of Range" message. Do I have to be close to cache? Thanks for any help. +geodarts
On my wifi only iPad I can specify a search location, either on the main page ("search by location") or using the "hide and seek" page under the "play" menu. Either one should return a list of caches that can be placed on a handheld. However, you have to manually enter a location. The find my location feature does not work unless I attach the iPad to bluetooth gpsr. Quote Link to comment
