William_S
I have seen lots of discussions on whether smartphones or stand alone GPSr are better to use when caching. I was wondering if anyone had used a tethered Bluetooth GPS unit with their smartphone and how it compared. I am currently using an HTC One M8 which has aGPS and Glonass. I like the tools and features my phone allows me to have access to but I do have some trouble with accuracy in dense tree cover. Would a unit like the Dual XGPS160 or the Garmin GLO improve my accuracy? If anyone has used a unit like this I would like to hear about it. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
+Walts Hunting
Dense tree coverage will always degrade the signal but the standalone GPS will do better than a phone there. I used to have a external GPS that I attached to my handheld long ago before the devices got better and it did help. When not in a degraded position like that smart phones are find.
