umop-apisdn
After yesterday's violence in Virginia, we had a tense moment at Mississippi State University this morning. Reports of an active shooter went out. Later when the all clear was given, I noticed the video of the arrest was right where WebCam Cache GCNHA5 points. Sure enough, somebody got a screen grab. The suspect didn't "phoon" so no smilie for him on the way to the slammer. Here is the log showing the arrest - http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=07c44b1b-cef2-46e7-9806-42991f51c63f Glad everyone is ok though. +HCompleto
Well, I love to use this quote to describe the connection between "our" world and the muggles' world: "Same Planet, different Worlds" I guess that is one of those moments when the connection is stablished. Glad everyone is fine! Quote Link to comment

When I first heard the news from him, I briefly thought about disabling the webcam cache while all this was going on, but I'm sure no cacher was going to get near it anyway. The situation got resolved pretty quickly. As it turns out, no shots were fired, and the news finally reported that the suspect didn't even have a gun. He had called a Jackson, MS based hotline earlier threatening suicide and homicide. The hotline contacted the authorities in Starkville at MSU. Here is my favorite picture that a student tweeted. A Sgt. of the campus police (these are REAL cops, not just security guards) striding across our drill field in high heels with an assault rifle. She meant business! Quote Link to comment
