Garmin City Select Install Problem

Do you mean the standard Trip and Waypoint Manager CD. I installed it before trying to install City Select v6.

No, when we got City Select it came with a third CD, the "Setup CD", which came in a separate cardboard holder. We initially overlooked it as well and tried to do the installation setup directly from Disk 1 and got the same error message you're seeing.

If you're sure you didn't get the third CD then I'd suggest giving Garmin a call.

I've have (and am having) the same problem with V 5.x

From another forum, and they got this from Garmin.

The problem is with Windows installer which was changed after City Select came out. The problem is said to occur with XP SP2 and Vista.

Solution: Create a desktop shortcut for the setup.exe file on theinstallatio disk. right click on the shortcut. Go to the line target. There you'll find CD-drive\setup.exe

add a space and /zgarmin, looks like this setup.exe /zgarmin

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

You may be able to the same thing using the run command and save a step.

You the man!!!!!! Been to 2 other forums, and no ones heard of that one!

Most kept insisting there was a "3rd" CitySelect install cd, (which I did not have.)

Your post is the only way I could get my maps to load.

Thanks again!
