+ChileHead
Now that you have to log in to see the coords of all caches, any possibility of adding the audit log that is on premium caches to all caches? Link to comment
+BalkanSabranje
This would very much go against any secrecy interests anyone could have (sorry for not being able to express it in better English). BalkanSabranje Link to comment
+mini cacher
forgive my ignorence.. but what is an "audit log"? Also, "premium" cache is the same as "Members Only" cache? Link to comment
+Lil Devil
In this day of Pocket Queries, audit logs are pretty much obsolete. When I go caching, I get a PQ with all the cache info. I run it through GPX Spinner and iSilo and download it to my Treo. When I find the cache, I go online with the built-in browser, enter the GC# on this form then press the "log" button. When I'm at home, I use this page which also lets me go straight to the log page. I rarely visit the cache page so I rarely show up in the audit log. Link to comment
Jeremy
I have to agree that "audit logs" are pretty much obsolete. Link to comment
+Cardinal Red
Audit Logs are an obsolete security feature. But many cachers still check the actual Cache Page. It's interesting to see who's been looking. I understand all the limitations, but I still like to check it. mini cacher Posted on Oct 21 2005, 03:59 PM forgive my ignorence.. but what is an "audit log"? Also, "premium" cache is the same as "Members Only" cache? Yes "premium cache", "members only cache", and "subscriber-only cache" all mean the same thing. If you own a "subscriber-only cache" there is a Read the audit log (see who viewed your cache) option on the Cache Page. It lists everyone that visited the cache page. How many times they visited. The date of their First Visit and the date of their Last Visit. As has been pointed out there are easy ways to see the cache page information without actually viewing the cache page. Those names will not show up in a cache "audit". Link to comment
+mini cacher
Thanks Cardinal Red I understand now why people talk about member only caches being a way to "prevent" caches getting trashed. There is a viewer history. I don't own any such caches so I did not know that existed. Which also means I don't know their usefullness (or lack there of) so I have no more to comment on that.
