This group has been set up to start a new catagory for U.S. Civil War sites that are not included in the Civil War Discovery Trail or do not have a Historical Marker that is associated with it. There are 100's of sites all over the south that fall under this catagory. If you enjoy researching these sites or like Civil War history I ask that you join the group so we can get this catagory started. I think you have to be very careful to identify clearly what qualifies for inclusion in your category.

Also, be sure your category name and description make it clear that it is for the U.S. Civil War, as many other countries have had civil wars.

OK, I have changed it to say U.S. Civil War. For right now I am just setting up the group. The group will discuss how this catagory will be worded. I do plan to leave it pretty broad, but will require that there be some kind of sign or marker telling about the site.
