I believe the cache page for the May 16 date is being worked on and should be submitted soon. I will be handling the June 20 CITO and should firm up arrangements with the park later this week or late next week. These have been mentioned in the WSGA forum in the CITO forum.

There has been NO mention of past and/or present "GeoPoker Run" events.
Isn't that kind of odd?

Ray,
This thread is for the Yahoo calendar I made for events in the Pacific Northwest. Dianne has emailed me directly to put their event on the calendar. Many people PM or email me to add their events instead of posting. The GeoPoker 3 Run has been on the schedule for quite some time.

I'm still curious why this calendar is only for WA BC and OR when this forum includes AK ID WY and Montana? Also, there are many people in Eastern Washington that attend events in Idaho and Montana...
Thanks.

The calendar was started for the people in Western Washington. We kept overlapping evens and needed a way to know what days events were scheduled to be on even if they were months in advance. In the case of the GeoLuau we book the event venue in January but can't list it until May-ish.
Then we started getting people coming up from Oregon and down from BC to events. They needed to know when to plan for a little travel so we added Oregon and BC events into the calendar.
However, I have to draw the line somewhere and decided to not include anything outside of the area already established.

I thought it would be a good idea if we had a 2007 calendar of events to show when there are scheduled events. It gives potential event hosts an idea of who else is eyeballing that date and it also gives everyone an idea of what's going on through a whole year for caching events.
This calendar is for the Olympic Peninsula and counties south. Everything from Puget Sound west and, roughly, Olympia north.
Here's the CALENDAR link.
If you want to add an event just let me know. Doesn't matter if it's carved in stone or still in the planning stages.
First off let me say thank you for doing this, I think it is a great way to keep everyone together and in the know
IMO I think that If this is going to be called "The event calendar for Northwest" then it needs to be FOR the NORTHWEST. If its going to be for a specific region within the Northwest then it should be named accordingly. Otherwise I don't think that it is fair to exclude the less populated/farther away states from the calender. Northern Idaho for example has most of its population on the border of Washington/Oregon. an event in my city for example is being held within 1 mile of Washington... and I believe that several if not most of the people coming are from Washington.
Looking back through the the posts I have noticed several people asking to be added to the NORTHWEST event calender only to be turned down because their event isn't in the right location???
I cant be the only one to think this isn't right...
TL;DR = Please reconsider your decision to make this only for Washington, Oregon, and BC

SPRING FLING ???
Sorry but there will be no Spring Fling this year.
We have to scale it back. Typically we have 4 or 5 events a year and it's becoming too much for us and the Shop99er crew to handle.
Which is not to say that there won't be Shop99er events this year. We will be hosting some smaller events this year. Coinapalooza is coming up, we are planning an alien themed event in May and we'll always have GeoLuau and GeoBoo.

hurshh - I'm sorry but there has to be a line drawn some at some point. I suggest you start a calendar for ID, MT and UT. I'm sure people will find it a very useful site and at some point maybe we could find someone to take over both and blend them together.

Totally understandable. Many people have no idea how much time, resources and money go into these things! Maybe there's a way to equating it to a particular amount of pain... you get the bat and I'll hold em down!
