I've been to a couple of geochaches that have letters in them saying exactly what geochaching is in case someone whose not looking for the cache finds it. Is this a generic form letter I can find somewhere or did these people make them? Thanks!

These letters are called "stash notes" and a collection of them can be found here on the "hide a cache" page. Look down in the column on the right side of the page.
It's fine to customize the stash note so that it's the right size for your container, or to alter the text. One good custom change is to add your Geocaching name and contact information.
