Have not seen the Palm Pro in this area yet -- We do have it working on the Sprint Palm 800W --
make sure that you sync first and then read the post on the Palm 800w about the config file changes and if you want you can try it. This assumes that the Pro will be using WM 6.1 Pro and the same build as the 800w.
You can look at the GPS connections in the System Settings and see if shows the GPD1 port for connections and then either modify or build the config.config file as shown under the Palm 800w posts.

I began to play Wherigo with my Palm Treo Pro just 2 days ago.
It can run the Wherigo player successfully.
But, due to the square screen I cannot see the tasks tab.
