Deleting Nuvi 500 geocaches

Recommended Posts

When hooked to your computer - go into the [drive]:\garmin\gpx folder on the device and remove the GPX files you do not want anymore.

I tried that... it did not work. I do have a Mac tho... so things might be different? I have gone into the garmin folder and into the gpx file... and there they were! I can delete them by "trashing them" and they do disappear from the computer... zip gone.... HOWEVER.... they are still on the nuvi 500... all of them!

I have done this 3 diff. times... all the old ones are no longer in the computer "Mac" gpx files... nothing but the new ones (not deleted) are on that file. again.... however.... every one of the gpx files are still on the nuvi 500.

HELP

Now the nuvi says I have too many geo caches on to erase some!

On a MAC......

You need to go and empty the trash as well.....

It is a MAC problem....

Make sure you have the latest firmware. This was a problem with Colorados and was repaired in a firmware release. It may have been addressed in the Nuvis as well, not sure.
