+BigHef32 Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 I've only been caching since April, but I find that any time someone asks me to go somewhere (ex: upcoming camping trip at Rend Lake, IL), I find myself looking for caches in the area as soon as possible. Is this odd? Hello, my name is BigHef32... and I'm addicted to geocaching. Quote

And besides, we haven't found one in that state yet!" Quote

I have actually decided to take an extra day off for "travel time" even though I've made the trip literally a hundred times in less than 5 hours. Now I just need to figure out how to create a route and get all the points in 1 GPX. Quote
+JustJackMN Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 So now our trips will take even longer......my wife's quilt shops and my hunting LOL. Quote
+jeffbouldin Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 I'm not addicted! I can stop after 1 more cache........... ok, just 1 more........ ok just 1 more......... ok just 1 more........... Quote

Odd but fun same here , I am always wondering if there are cahces eveywhere I am driving too. But it is also relaxing because I look at every green place around, before this I use to tdrive thinking about work or other exahusiting activity. Quote
+Krux151 Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 lol everytime i see a cool location on tv i look to see if geocaches are there and when i drive i always say "hey wouldint that be a cool spot for a geocache" or "i wonder if there is a cache there" Quote
+SkellyCA Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 (edited) Every time My friends/family want me to go somewhere, I say I must grab at least a couple caches. Friend asked me to go kayaking, I grabbed two. Went to Florida last week...had to grab a couple, ended up with 6. Going hiking in Yosemite next week; told my friend I have to grab a couple caches. Got a couple camping trips planned. one at Cherry Lake(on a kayak) and one at a secret spot, I told my friend I have to grab a couple cahes. I put my geocaching maps from INATN on my profile page and 2 is better than one, next color is at 10, but 2 is good, it adds color to my maps. Edited June 19, 2009 by SkellyCA Quote
namiboy Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 since may i've been researching geocaches around all the areas i'm going to in japan this august. Quote
+mahini Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 i drive with my junior on! And then, I point as we drive past! "there's one in those bushes over there". Husband never slows down! (I think he's missing the point!!!!!) Quote
+Packanack Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Is this odd? Yes. But no more odd than a teenager who text 20 hours out of each day, it is the same type of trigger. Addictions are all remarkably similar in the hormonal release and the brain areas stimulated. Quote
orangecamper Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 At least this addiction will get us out and get us some exercise! (And bug bites, and scratches, and sprained thingsm and muddy, and wet... LOL!) Quote
+ChoochCharlie Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Did the same thing, tonight. Headed to a cabin in the woods with family for next week. Downloaded ALL caches within a few miles of the cabin and planned State Park visit. Love it. gotta love it. Quote
