It's a Vizla. My sister has one of these. It's a good dog, dumb as a box of rocks, but a good dog. Would die to protect her toys.

Tucker loves going caching with us, but we do keep him on a leash at all times -- he has this thing about squirels (and seems to be firmly convinced that stonewalls breed squirrels and chippy-munks.

We're going to be geocaching on vacation in PEI and Cape Breton in September, but alas we'll be leaving Tucker behind at a late Doggie Summer Camp (also known as the local kennel).

Thanks but that's not an avatar, though, Fred. You need to be a dog over there <--- on the left.

most of us are so proud of our babies we want to post pics of them whenever we can. some people are known here for their distinctive avatars. mine always have a flamingo in them. i won't change to a dawg avatar but i just might post a pic of my Bikhi in here.

Typically she rides shotgun in the Roob unless a <gasp> biped takes the spot.

Off-topic means that we aren't talking about geocaching. I was hoping for a thread full of people with dogs as their avatars.

My uncle (well, uncle of a cousin) the Count Bela Hadik, is very involved with Vislas, both breeding and history.

Do I have to change my avatar just to get into this thread??
I do love dogs. I just may get one one of these days. I'd love to, but I need a bigger place.
How about if I posted a picture of my ex as my avatar. Does that count???
(OOOOooooooo, I didn't say that)

I did outlive two dogs, a Weimaraner and a Staffordshire Terrier.
No plans on more at the moment.

There were a million people out there walking around the lake. We had a whole lot of rain last week, and there's more rain coming next week (go figure) and so everyone was taking advantage of the sun we had today.
It was a good place for people watching, but even more so, a great place for dog watching.
One owner was walking THREE Saint Bernards. HUGE dogs!!
Next time I'll take my camera.
Lots of fun!!

You know I think those dogs I saw either had to have been something else, or were a mix. They were much bigger than those dogs, and really fluffy.
It's been a while since I saw a Saint Bernard, so I was probably mistaken.
I was petting the dogs and someone came up and said those people were never going to get around the park with all the attention they were getting, so I let them go without asking what they were. I'd rather pet the dogs than discuss them anyway.
I hid in a backyard with 12 saint bernards once.
I was on the ground behind the bushes with 12 dogs checking me out. No, nothing illegal. Lots of slobber though.

Maybe you could all post about your favourite dog treat?

Georgia told me to say that. A day without her treat makes her feel like this:

(This is her worried look. Her Human Mom is in the hospital, upside down, for the next two months, trying to hang on to her pregnancy, she is very worried, as we all are.)
