I am taking part in the BBC Britain in a day tomorrow, please can someone link me to the rules/guidelines of filming and uploading for geocaching?
Thanks

There aren't any. Just explain about geocaching with a cache in front of you at a cache site. Even if your footage gets chosen, I doubt very many geocachers will see it.

Actually there are some rules. Look at the TOU. Don't post any spoilers to any cache.

If you haven't read through the thread yet here is one that covers this topic.

Excellent, thank-you, before uploading my 'day' I will check with cache owners for their permission :)

alternatively, "find" a cache you've placed yourself, a-la blue peter "here's one I did earlier", then you only need to ask yourself, and you could archive the cache afterwards to avoid real spoiler. Let us know if you're chosen, and when it's on :D

Post a link to whatever you have when you're done. When caching was first allowed in our provincial parks, the local TV crew came along and went with a politician and young cacher on the hunt. At no time was the exact spot shown on TV - the cache for the show was placed just for that event, never published. Afterwards the container went to its rightful spot. The politician and camerman had a blast though - the camerman would have got his hands on the cache first if he hadn't had his hands full of video camera.

Those are general rules prohibiting posting spoilers, not specific rules governing filming geocaching like the OP wanted.

This sort of project isn't something that hasn't been done before. Kevin Macdonald did one of the entire world last year on July 24th. If the OP's clip somehow gets used, it'll be a very small part of a feature length film. Just about everyone will have forgotten about it by the end of the film, since they'll likely have been introduced to many other, more interesting concepts in that film.

How did this project end up turning out?

Cache owner happily gave me permission, but I was not picked because ofthe amount of entries. Oh well!
