I placed a TB three years ago with three specific destinations, and then to come back to its original cache. The TB has been to the first two destinations already, and at this moment is in the hands of a very responsible geocachers couple that commented on their intentions to move it closer to the third destination. However, I have a friend geocacher that is soon going exactly to the place where the TB is destined on its third stop.

Is it correct for me to ask the geocachers that have current possesion of the TB, to ship it to me so I can give it to my friend geocacher to take it to its next destination?

Please, I need a quick response since my friend geocacher is leaving in two weeks, and I need some time to ask the current geocachers to mail the TB to me. Thanks!!!!!

It seems like quite an imposition to ask strangers to pack and mail something to you quickly. But it's OK to ask. Offer to send them something very nice in return.

Surely you can ask.....but personally, I'd just let the game play on its own.

TB's are to travel around and be enjoyed by everyone. If the couple is enjoying your TB and wants to take it with them..... The request to have it shipped could put a bad taste in their mouths simply because they might get the impression that you're not happy with them having the TB. That's a lot to ask someone to go out of their way (busy schedules) to pack up an item for a complete stranger.

That's just my thoughts....

I'd think the fun of the mission is to see what twists and turns the TB takes along the way. Having them mail it so you can rush it to its final destination just seems like it would take away from the accomplishment.

Welcome to the hobby noobie. One of the things you will learn is not to get to serious about your travelers. They will generally wonder from place to place randomly and rarely complete their goal. personally if I got that email I would drop it in the next cache and log it of course.

I wouldn't ask them to return it to you. Maybe you could give your friends a new tb for them to start out when they take their trip.
