I've never posted on a forum so i hope im doing this correctly. We are currently using our phone for geocaching but i would like my own gps, i have a limited budget so have chosen the Dakota 10, i understand that if u want os map u have buy them but talkytoaster maps are free. Are these maps good enough?? and is it straight forward loading the tt maps onto the Dakota?

I had a Dakota 10 + talkytoaster combo myself (that's before I killed the unit while checking the speed of an RC model... opps), I now use an eTrex 20.
The maps are taken from openstreetmap which are improving all the time, basically if its on openstreetmap it will be in the talkytoaster maps.
Installing is straight forward and installation instructions are given on talktoaster's web site:

It's just a standard USB lead and the GPS appears as a removable drive...simples
