Looking for some advice from the experienced geocachers here. I am new to geocaching and really enjoy getting out and looking for caches. My dog Sammy and I have found a bunch of caches and I would really like to get several personalized geocoins. Can anyone recommend the best (most reliable) suppier of these coins?

Thanks.

WOW! I'm going to be watching this thread... with the price of the nicer geocoins being $10-$15 NEW I can't even imagine what a personalized one would cost! Do they MAKE such a thing? I'm off to google it!

Edit: Well... I found a site that makes them... you have to buy a minimum of 25 per design - but they aren't the pretty shiny sparkly ones... they're all metal. Can have paint. They say they START at $3 and some change per... which sounds like a GREAT price ... but they're not the pretty shiny sparkly ones...

Wondering if the OP might be thinking more along the lines of 'signature items'. That pretty much is what a personalized geocoin would be, right?

There is an [unmentionable] sig item out there that many nØØbs confuse with geocoins. Just mentioned it because price-wise, it is far more practical than designing, minting and distributing geocoins.

Why is this item unmentionable if I might ask?

(I do know what you're talking about)

I just posted this elsewhere. You need to pay for the numbers-with a minimum charge of $75(50 at $1.50 each) You have the option of your own custom icon (at $150-one time) Plus the set up, service charges and the actual cost of the coin-varies depending on what you want/ how many. THISsite seems to be fairly simple and inexpensive. and THIS ONE seems to be the most popular around where I am. Both the websites purchase custom numbers in bulk, so you may not need to buy the 50 number minimum.

The Powers of Groundspeak deem those sig items as competition. Therefore, to speak of such is (almost) sinful.
Do understand, it is the Groundspeak forums, so it is not wrong for them to rule that way.
