I recently bought a Garmin Dakota 10. I have used it, down loaded geocaches with no problems. The promblem I am having is trying to delete these caches whether as a found cache or as one that is still active. How the heck do you delete them? Thanks for any help.

Perhaps it's like the newest Garmins, where you connect the GPSr to a computer and drag the unneeded files into the trash?

If not, then this site should have the answer:

As above but you can only remove all the caches, you can't select which ones to remove.

If you use Garmin's Basecamp program you can delete individual caches :)

Not really. It's just taking the gpx file from the device and rewriting it and sending it back to the unit. You could do that with a text editor, although not as quickly.

POINT: Every week since the original Colorado units appeared here, SOMEONE starts a thread here and asks how to delete individual geocaches (either found or unfound) from one of these units from the face of the unit itself. IT ISN'T POSSIBLE!

Splitting hairs here ... I didn't bother to explain HOW it's doing it but the effect is the caches are no longer on the unit, to me that's deleteing them
