I am sure many people have seen the same problem when logging: where to log the found cache? My boyfriend and I go out geocaching both separately and together. We find both premium and regular caches but only have 1 premium membership. I want my user name to show just the caches I have found...I dont want his in there! Silly, but I want my count to be my own! If I log our finds under my Premium user name then that works for ones we find together...for me. But he cant log the premium finds under his name. Currently the only option (that I know of) is to buy 2 memberships....but what if you made a Family Membership and got to say which members of the family found each cache?? I would be willing to pay a little extra for each added member to my account.

UPDATE: thanks to all who responded - great advice. for those of you not wanting to read all the below, the best suggestion was to go to this link http://www.geocachingadmin.com/ and add the cache by GC code...works if you want to add a cache you found with a premium member!

We've been asking for family memberships for quite some time, but that doesn't seem to be the situation you describe.

Your boyfriend CAN log the premium member only caches he finds. Geocaching.com even explains HOW to do it!

And you are correct: your finds should be YOUR finds, not someone else's finds!

Hmmm... Can you link to how he can? My girlfriend and I are in the EXACT situation.

I think a family subscription is a good idea but I can see where it could get complicated for the GS Accounting department. There needs to be a way to connect the two or more memberships - perhaps through a common email.

The annual premium membership is $30, add a "partner" membership for $25 and any further memberships (presumably kids, but this could be a team or a cub scout group, etc) for $20. When it comes time for renewal, there would need to be a page where you choose the members you want to renew. This is just in case someone in the family decides they don't want to cache anymore.

In the meantime, there is a quick and easy way to keep track of your and your boyfriend's individual cache counts. Buy yourself a pair of geocoins or travel bugs and "visit" your trackable into every cache you do. This will record your own personal caching experiences as well as mileage (if you are looking for a little friendly competition in that area). You can even go back and "visit" caches you've already been to.

Hope that helps!

Edited to add that I just realized you were asking about non-PMs logging premium caches, not about sharing a Premium account. But I'll le my answer stand in case it is useful to others.

Here's one explanation of how basic members can log PMO caches:

Easiest way for a non-PM to log PMO caches is to use this page. Fill in the GC Code, and click on the "Log" button.
