retreiving notes made in gps at time of find

Garmin GPSmap62s - when i am in geocahcing mode and note a cache found, it gives me the option to add a comment.. my question is how do i retrieve this comment later on when plugged in to the PC logging my finds? it doesn't show up in base camp... ??

I don't know what software can grab those notes, but you can use them to help you compose a cache log by using the Field Notes capability under Member Features.

There us a file in the \garmin directory called geocache_visits.txt all the info is stored in there :)

thanks - thats awesome - a puzzle now solved. - i take it to clear that log you just clear the contents of the txt file actual file?

Delete the file. The unit will recreate it when needed.
(Avoids any chance of a 'damaged' file being used)

The file can be loaded to Groundspeak via http://www.geocachin...fieldnotes.aspx
