+Ruddles1325 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I got the same error logging 2 caches just an hour or so ago. No such error 8 hours earlier. Quote
+Mad H@ter Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Same here, have to click back and then click submit again and it then works. Quote
+slammer47 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 [quI am also getting the 500 server error. I have had no success in getting a found-it log to take after many tries even with clicking the back button as suggested might work. Quote
Moun10Bike Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I have notified our engineering team of this issue. Quote
+Kite and Hawkeye Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I was getting it when submitting logs from field notes. Despite the error, the logs did take. Quote
+kristianmatthews Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Am having this same problem. Can submit logs for other waymarks, but for http://www.Waymarking.com/waymarks/WM4KN_Devils_Elbow_MO I get the error 500 despite reloading and resubmitting multiple times ;( Quote
+HerefordAnn Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 I am getting this error when I try to access my profile details, as I cannot add an avatar Quote

+HerefordAnn Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Thanks. I had been trying ever since I joined last week. Always the way, you write a message and the problem is solved without you checking before writing I now have an avatar, one hurdle out of the way! Thanks again. Quote
+literatesfla Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 I am still having this issue - need to renew premium and I can't get in. 500 Server Error. Thanks. Quote
+shejo Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 (edited) The same here. I can't open Account Details. Everything else works fine, only Account Details doesn't work and gives a 500-Server error. Log out and close the site and open and log in again won't fix the problem. What's wrong? Edited June 26, 2013 by shejo Quote
+doparo Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 I was getting the same message but only when I was trying to navigate to the account details page the rest of the site worked fine. Quote
Moun10Bike Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 The engineering team is investigating this issue. Quote

+KRON family Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 The transaction log for database 'GEO' is full. To find out why space in the log cannot be reused, see the log_reuse_wait_desc column in sys.databases Quote
+hirtle Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 I have the same problem when I try to view my profile (500 server error). Tried other devices, same issue. Tried my daughter's account, her's works fine. Quote
+Geobun Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 (edited) As of 8:00am pacific time, I'm still getting the 500 Server Error when I try to log into my profile. I logged out, rebooted my browser, and logged back in. Problem remains. Edited July 29, 2013 by Wildbun Quote
+JoenGPS Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Same with us ..500 Server Error when trying to log into our profile. Yesterday it would not accept any logon credentials at all. I heard back from yesterday's issue this AM.. "Thank you for writing in about this. We have been experiencing technical difficulties with this functionality on our site. You should now be able to login to you geocaching account again. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you." They are having problems no doubt. Quote

+Trekkin' and birdin' Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Same issue here. Have tried logging in and out on both Chrome and IE. Can't get to my profile, just get that 500 error. Quote
+Armsey Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 The error is back, seems like I can do anything on the website apart from view my profile either by clicking the ‘your profile’ button or using the drop down ‘your profile’ and the ‘quick view’ Quote
+Mr. Wilson & a Mt. Goat Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 I'm also getting the error trying to get to my profile. Public profile works fine though. Quote

I can get everywhere except my quick view profile. Trying to get to that through various methods results in a 500. I'd post the server I'm on, but that information no longer seems to be in the source. Quote

I raised a support request 7 days ago which has not yet been responded to. I've chased the call today. I know my issue isn't local, as a friend can access their account profile fine on my machine, so this must be a user account issue (in my mind ) Quote
Moun10Bike Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 We believe that we have identified the cause of this issue. In a nutshell, it involves a user's "culture" - the language and region identified on their account - getting set to an unexpected value and causing the private account page to blow up. A fix has been made so that the page properly handles these unexpected values and will roll out with the next site release, currently scheduled for Sept. 17th. Quote

Good that you have it tracked down. 500 Server errors can sometime be difficult to fix. For those that don't know, a 500 Server Error is basically a "catch all" error that is returned to a browser when a request (i.e. clicking on a link to a web page) is made to the server, and "something goes wrong" that isn't handled gracefully. It could be anything from a dropped database connection, running out of memory, or anything that causes the process which handles the request to terminate abnormally. For that reason, if you get a 500 Server Error, the more information that you can provide which tells the developers what you were doing at the time, the easier it will be to track down the problem. mepetya Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I'm getting the 500 - Server Error trying to access cache pages to log my find. For examlple: Spring Cone of Tihany The most of awema's other caches occurs this error. Quote
Moun10Bike Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 It looks like that is an error caused by the fact that you have your language set to Hungarian and are trying to access a Premium Members Only cache as a basic member. I'll enter a bug for the issue, and you can work around the error by setting your language to English, but note that you will not be able to access a PMO cache listing without upgrading. There are available options for basic members to log PMO caches, however. Quote
