+twinjayhawks Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 I just purchased a Monterra. I spent a better part of a day trying to transfer gpx files via USB. Then finally about the 6th tech at Garmin told me that the Monterra will not communicate with a Mac without another program. The program that needs to be downloaded and installed is the "Android file transfer". After installation of this program I can transfer gpx files... You would think Garmin might mention this somewhere... Maybe I missed it. I just wanted to post in case someone else has a Mac. Quote
+sduck Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 It's not plug and play? Like virtually every other modern device out there? Shame on garmin! And thanks for the HU - I was initially attracted to the monterra but this is dumb. Quote
insig Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 It's not a matter of plug and play -- it's a limitation of the android operating system. Every other android device out there needs android file transfer to work on a mac. Quote
+sduck Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Yes, I realized after I typed that - that I already have android file transfer installed, so as far as I'm concerned it actually would be plug and play. Strange that garmin doesn't feel the need to inform mac users about this. Quote
