Guest Buxley
I've put together a web page with a clickable map of California showing the relative positions of all 124 caches located here. The URL is: http://www.brillig.com/geocaching/ Holding the mouse over a cache icon displays the name of the cache and clicking it brings you to the cache's page on www.geocaching.com. My next addition to the page will be to let you zoom in on the regions with high cache concentrations; the icons are a bit close together right now, but it's a start. Let me know what you think. Also, if you notice any HTML errors, please let me know. I've tested it with IE, but have not yet tested it with Navigator. I'll keep this page up to date with the latest California cache info, but since I'm typing in new cache locations by hand, it may take a day or so before newly placed caches show up on my web page. Enjoy the page, I hope you find it useful. Cache on! -Buxley Quote Link to comment
Guest bcbpbob
Great idea! This will make it easy for us to getin on the comp. between AZ & UT. Thanks Bob Quote Link to comment
Guest Buxley
I'm still adding features to the maps at http://www.brillig.com/geocaching/. Now you can zoom in and get a more detailed map of the Bay Area, Los Angeles area, and San Diego area caches by clicking on one of the grey boxes on the main California map. Each of the four web pages has links to the ten most recent caches that appear on that particular map. Cache on! Buxley Quote Link to comment
Guest Florian
The zoomed in maps are really nice. Thanks Ed! -Florian http://www.stargazer.org/geocaching.html Quote Link to comment
Guest Zippy
Thanks for the map. I've got it bookmarked. I'm rather new to Geocaching, but my sons and I have already logged two caches in Southern California. The map is a great help locating some of them without having to resort to looking at each individual cache page. Thanks again. Quote Link to comment

Guest bigRahn
Wow! This is really cool. Good Job. Too bad I live in Washington. This solves the problem we have: When we decide to take a road trip, we don't have an easy way of seeing where we have the option of going (If we want to find a cache). Quote Link to comment

Guest Buxley
Get ready to find a LONG power cord Quinn! I've expanded my maps (at http://www.brillig.com/geocaching/) to include the states of Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Oregon and Washington and I'll do the other states soon. Guest bob_renner
Since this power cord will most likely cross through a National Park, you'll undoubtedly make it a virtual power cord, right? Bob Renner Quote Link to comment

Guest bigRahn
If I want to look for the cord, how will I find the waypoint? Under what state will the cache be filled under? And what end gets the logbook? Quote Link to comment
Guest tm23
This is a really cool map. Sadly, there are so few caches in Orange County (and I see we are both in the San Diego and the LA square) Quote Link to comment

+chaosmanor
and while it's been almost two years since the post before this one, I figured I would check out the URL; it's still there, amazingly enough! This is a really nifty site. I find it scary that California has gone from a mere 124 geocaches to nearly 4500 in a bit under two years! Are we obsessed or what?! Quote Link to comment
