I was wondering how many Scouters are involved in geocaching? Please reply to this topic with some information about your scout group (ie group name and general location)

I was a Beaver leader for 6 years but now I am doing service team, Father of a Scout and we did have a group cache out last summer but removed so we could see the changes and keep the logs.

Lets not forget Guiding also, my wife is Brownie leader and my daughter is a pathfinder.

Looking forward to seeing more group caches to find and log.

Saskatoon Eastview 40th Scouts just helped place a cashe, along with some tree planting, at Nesslin Lake. We hope to get more involved next season as we break for summer, but encourged the youth to check out the web for some more finds, and to watch geochallenge 1 for visits. Saskatchewan needs more cashes out there. Razz

Anyone going to Blue Springs next week for the reunion?

Maybe we could get together sometime on Saturday?

Would your troop be interested in a troop challange?
If so, I will get my scouts to put together a cache and we will hide it for you to find.

I'll mention it to the scouts and see what they say. You mentioned that you would hide a cache, but what sort of challenge did you have in mind?

I was thinking along the lines of the troop putting togeter a cache and then hiding it while on a hike or a camp. Razz

John

I introduced my son's troop to geacaching last night.

On Sunday we are going for our first cache. We are going to Short cut to the old cabin.

They are then going to hide a cache at a later date.
