+MaxEntropy
I've recently started to have a problem with my Legend. It occasionally has horizontal lines across the screen, sometimes white, sometimes black and they often go away after a while. I tried alkaline batteries in case it was power-related but I had the same results. It's not temperature-related. Has anyone else had this problem? +apersson850
Has happened to both my Vistas. Send it to Garmin and have it replaced. Anders Quote Link to comment
+Hiemdahl
Had that problem while I was out in LA. When I came home I uploaded the latest Garmin software release and re-loaded my local maps and the problem went away. Not sure which action fixed it, but it seems to work fine now. +apersson850
It usually comes and goes, as the contact between the electronics and the display is somewhat erratic, when this problem occurs. Anders Quote Link to comment
Couch_Potato
My Legend gets vertical bars of black, white (clear) and low contrast occasionally. It usually occurs after pressing one of the side buttons and will clear up if I apply pressure to the case from the sides near the buttons. I's just a bad connection between the circuitry and the display. I'm not lost! I just don't know where I am. Quote Link to comment
+apersson850
My first Vista had vertical lines, that came and went, especially when pressing the case just above the display. The second (replacement) unit developed one horizontal line across the display. At the beginning, it went away with a firm pressure near the power button. The third replacement unit works so far, perhaps because I got it yesterday... Anders Quote Link to comment
+MaxEntropy
I sent an e-mail to Garmin describing the problem. They didn't ask questions or offer any advice. They gave me an RMA number to send it back to the factory. Cool, maybe I'll get a new case too. I have to use it next weekend then I'll send it back. I'll keep you posted on how it goes.
