Pocket Query For Locationless

I tried to do a PQ for locationless caches, and only came up with a handful. I even specified a search radius of 10,000 miles in the hopes of getting a lot of locationless caches. Unfortunately, I only came up with about 30. Is there any reason for this?

Don't bother with PQ's for this...

You did not mention if this is for use on a handheld or not...

If not, try This Site - Catagorized Locationless Caches

If so, A better solution is to use Plucker (or similar program) and point it to the same site. Set your link depth to 2 otherwise it will take forever and generate a very unnecessarily large file.

DocDean, you're assuming that a handheld device is the only use for pocket queries. A PQ of locationless caches in GPX format can be used in Watcher to keep track of which locationless caches you have and haven't found, to search for keywords, to set ignore lists for those you'll "never" find, etc. I'm sure there are other uses.

I am not ruling out PQs but you are unable to get ALL the locationless caches in one gpx file.

or at least I have been un-able to...

See IV Warrior's post as referenced above by Hemlock.

There used to be a way to create a query that would get all of the locationless in the world in one PQ, but it required editing the HTML of the pocket query form to include "United States" in the list of countries (and you had to know what value Jeremy uses for United States.) I don't know if that hole was closed up or not.

For as little as the list of locationless caches changes, at least for the moment, you might as well just do two PQs and merge them with Watcher or GPSBabel as IV Warrior suggested.

Since you are limited to a 500 mile radius, it will take several PQ's to get the whole country covered...

You don't have to specify a starting point or a radius. You can also do a PQ for a single state, or for all states. Read the thread that Hemlock and Keystone Approver pointed to; it tells you all the steps you need.
