+Amazingracer
Someone posted this on our board and thought id share. Unexpected Summer It sounds pretty neat. you find the special can, push the button which calls Coke. They then activate the GPS and track you down to give you your prize. Disclaimer: Im not advertising for coke or anything, just thought the idea is pretty neat. Quote Link to comment
+RuffRidr
Ha, it'd be fun to activate the can right before you go on a cross-country trip. Make 'em work at tracking you down!! --RuffRidr Quote Link to comment
+LETaylor
The way my luck has been running lately, they'd stop by just as I entered the bathroom. . . But, if they'd show up at the same time as Ed McMahon with a Publisher's Clearinghouse check I'd be much happier. Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
Cool. If I won they would track that right to my attorney. That gives me a little privacy. Especially since I would have LETaylors luck. Edited May 10, 2004 by Renegade Knight Quote Link to comment

+SnowLeopard
The picture of the helecopter on the coke promotion site freaks me out though. I can just picture a SWAT team of coke guys repelling from a helecopter to find some poor guy holding a coke can - eeek! Edited May 12, 2004 by SnowLeopard Quote Link to comment

Princess and Jester
Has anybody seen the the new Coke summer contest? They are loading 120 Coke cans with a GPS enabled Cell phone as part of their contest. When the devices are activated it directs Coke officials to the location of the can. Talk about big brother, this an interesting concept for GPS publicity. [Duplicate topic was merged by moderator into original topic.] Edited May 25, 2004 by Keystone Approver Quote Link to comment

+TrackerGirl
My mom keeps telling me, "When 'they' start zapping people off the earth, I am staying away from you and your gadgets, 'they'll' find you". I laugh at her. Now I wonder... Coke has this Unexpected Summer Contest going on with the GPS Can.... I thought you used the GPS to find out where you were, not "they" find me. This contest makes it sound otherwise, though in this case, let "them" find me!!! I could use a new SUV!!! Anyhow... so, is it really the GPS they are tracking? or the cell phone? Maybe mom is right - if so - I will tell her how wrong I was, and beg her forgiveness after I pick her up and take her to lunch in my new Coke SUV. Quote Link to comment
+The Cheeseheads
I think if I found one of these, I'd call in, then head out to my favorite five-star terrain cache and make them work to find me. Quote Link to comment
+Mudfrog
I think if I found one of these, I'd call in, then head out to my favorite five-star terrain cache and make them work to find me. Thinkin just the opposite here. Im gonna get in the most accessible, wide open, treeless spot i can find, then set up camp and wait for them to home in on me. Dont want them having any trouble delivering that prize! Sure hope its a Yellow Jeep!!! (oooops, wrong contest) Quote Link to comment
