TotemLake
Off hand, without a link or GC# to work with, I'd call this a mystery cache. Quote Link to comment
Nappy10
this is listing as a new cach, but i get a can't view screen when i click it. oops, here is link here The reason you cannot view this cache is it has not been "approved" by the geocaching.com approvers. Once approved, you should have no problem viewing it. Unless the cache is denied and archived, then you may never see it. Quote Link to comment
XVampire
Yes, I understand that, but it showing up when I do a search of caches within 100 miles. I have never seen one that I couldn't access untill it is approved. Quote Link to comment
Nappy10
How did you find the link for this cache listing? You said you did a cache search for a hundred miles and it was listed as new? Quote Link to comment
XVampire
Yes from 59405 and it is on page 3. Quote Link to comment
Nappy10
Then the answer to your question it, no that is not normal. A not-yet-approved cache should not appear under a distance search until it has been approved. However, it is normal to be blocked access from a cache listing until it is approved. Either a system glich or something has been changed. Quote Link to comment
XVampire
ok, yes that answers my question. i just got my premium account and thought perhaps that was part of it. thanks. Quote Link to comment
Nappy10
Nope. The only thing I can think of is maybe it was approved, listed, and then the approver retracted that approval (can they do that???). Something quirky like that could have happened. Quote Link to comment
Will+Bill
Hmmm, it does that to me too. Quote Link to comment
