+Chaz
How do I change the backround on a cache page? I understand that it has something to do with HTML or something. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
+JMBella
Copy and paste the following into your cache description: <BODY BACKGROUND="http://img.Groundspeak.com/cache/63f6d35d-4648-435e-8a1e-5ddf5f5c8cd1.jpg" BGPROPERTIES="fixed"> Then just change the "http://img.Groundspeak.blah, blah, blah" to what ever pic link you want to use. +Chaz
I've tried it but it doesnt show up on my cache page. Maybe I just can't see it from my computer. Help please. Quote Link to comment
Keystone
Have you checked the box on the cache editing page that says that your description uses html? It needs to be checked, or else your html is stripped out. And note that, once you DO choose to use html, then ALL of your short description and long description needs to be formatted in html, including line breaks, paragraph breaks, etc. Quote Link to comment
lowracer
I wrote up a primer on this very topic a few months back, because I got tired of seeing many of my local cachers put up really *blah* cache pages. How to Dress Up a Cache Page All I ask is that you let me know if you found it helpful, maybe send me a link to your cache page to see how well you did. -mark. Quote Link to comment
+Huntnlady
You DONT change the background. Leave it the basic green. Custom backgrounds are very annoying. Quote Link to comment

+SerenityNow
So, how would you do it in Html if you want to just make the background a different color and not a repeating image? Quote Link to comment
+BeachBuddies
You just modify the body tag like so: <body bgcolor=blue> Quote Link to comment
+JMBella
You just modify the body tag like so: <body bgcolor=blue> See now I didn't know that. I always made a color box in photo shop, uploaded it on the cache page and added the same text I wrote above. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
+Ambrosia
Or you can look online at the wonderful different websites that feature lots of backgrounds, many of which are just plain color. But sometimes the color also has texture, too. Then you can find the color or texture that you like, right click on it, and save it. Here is my favorite. You can even click on the images and then change the colors: http://www.grsites.com/textures/ Quote Link to comment

+º
If you're a little bit more into HTML you may wanna have a look at this cache page: Mission Echo Quote Link to comment
+drat19
If you're a little bit more into HTML you may wanna have a look at this cache page: Mission Echo Problem with that is that if you do the "Print friendly" version, none of the white font lettering shows up. This is also a problem with other "creative" uses of HTML on pages. Those looking to make their pages more creative via HTML should always verify "Print Friendly" as well, in my opinion. That's why the only change I ever make to my cache pages is the border. Example -Dave R. Edited July 23, 2004 by drat19 Quote Link to comment
+º
If you want to find Mission Echo the description isn't needed - you only need the first waypoint. But this is OT anyway since I only wanted to show what is possible. Quote Link to comment
