Blue Contrails
Of starting a new thread called "What's in your backpack?" Or, and this one's my favorite, "I'm a n00b, what GPS should I get?" I figure it won't be long before the thread fills up with at least 30 responses. And once that happens I could post again in another section and I'm betting 8 more will respond. All the while, mind you, I won't be using the search feature on this forum because god for bid I might find the answer I've been looking for. Quote Link to comment
Magellin
Must Have WATER in the BACK PACK!! carry an extra Compass, pack of waterproof matches Thick/durable knife (slash the bark off of a "lighter pine" / "Slash pine" and collect the sap in a bottle cap... lights with flint and burns in the rain!!!!" Any GPSR will function for the purpose of finding a "spot". The Bell's and whistles are the exception to the GPSR rule. Quote Link to comment

+The Burgs
Ummm......let's see, WATER, a compass, assorted knicknacks to place in cache, TOILET PAPER (Don't laugh!), extra batteries, a knife or two, a crank operated flashlight (no batteries needed), the printouts of all the caches we're doing that day, some sort of energy snack, FRS radios (removed from pack for use during caching), along with second pack for camera and assorted accessories. That's about it. Quote Link to comment
